Does Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy require a prescription?
All estrogen and testosterone hormones and some strengths of progesterone require a prescription. After meeting with one of our consultant pharmacists, recommendations are made to your doctor for a specific regimen that fits your needs.
Will my insurance cover Bio-Identical Hormones?
Most insurances will pay for bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. Detailed insurance claim forms will be provided for you to file for reimbursement. Generally, patients are reimbursed the price of the medication less the highest tier copay.
How do I begin Bio-Identical "Natural" Hormones?
To begin a customized natural hormone replacement, call Medical Center Pharmacy at 910-763-1896 to schedule a consultation with Henry Herring, RPh, Beverly Clark, RPh., or Jennifer Kitchens, RPh.
During this meeting, the pharmacist will review your medical history form and symptoms.
The pharmacist will make a specific recommendation for bio-identical hormone replacement to your doctor for approval. It may also be appropriate for saliva testing to be done to determine your present hormone levels. How are Bio-identical Hormones different than synthetic hormones such as Premarin?
